David K. LaidlawDavid K. Laidlaw, Esq., CFA Portfolio Manager

David serves as lead Portfolio Manager at Laidlaw Group, LLC. He enjoys the intellectual challenge of researching under-valued securities and working with clients to help solve their unique problems.  David co-founded Laidlaw Group in 1998 after three years with Fissell, Laidlaw & Co., Inc., where he served as a Portfolio Manager and member of the Investment Committee.

David received the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute in 1998. He Graduated with honors from Rutgers University School of Law Newark in 1994 and received a Bachelors of Arts from Reed College in Biology in 1989.

When not working, David enjoys family time with his wife, Moira, and three children, Claire, Robbie and John.  He is also an avid weekend tennis player.

Benjamin D. ConnardBenjamin D. Connard, CFA Analyst

Ben serves as lead Analyst, Assistant Portfolio Manager and Trader at Laidlaw Group.  He brings strong quantitative skills to his research and the curiosity to understand the rationale behind the numbers.  Ben joined Laidlaw Group, LLC in 2004.  Prior to his current position, Ben worked as an Associate Analyst with NERA (a Marsh McLennan Company), an economic consulting firm, where he valued intellectual property for litigation purposes.

Ben received the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute in 2007.  He graduated from Williams College in 2002 where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in both Mathematics/Statistics and Economics.

Outside of the office, Ben enjoys spending his free time with his wife Sonia and toddlers Lily and Amelia.  Sonia and Ben met running the New York marathon and now enjoy hiking with the children in tow.

Ms. Vetere joined the firm at its inception.  She reconciles each account within the firm’s internal portfolio accounting system to the custodial data.  She is also responsible for opening accounts and remitting funds as needed.  Susan is the go-to person to get things done in the office.  She enjoys working with the firm’s clients many of whom she has known for over a dozen years.  Ms. Vetere holds an Associates Degree from Berkley College.

While not at work, Susan is spending time with her adult children or ballroom dancing.
